Azure Cloud Migration Acceleration

Project Brief

Organizations are changing how they store and manage data, moving away from on-premises servers and instead looking to the Cloud. Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the Alaska Department of Administration, Office of IT (OIT) contracted Wostmann to oversee its digital transformation as a key portion of its staff become remote workers, trading their cubicles for homes offices.

Our team provided technical design, development, and support to oversee the migration effort from on-premises servers to Azure Cloud. For the Alaska Department of Administration OIT, we also provided project management, quality assurance and independent project oversight on its digital transformation, process automation, and personnel management changes. The objective was to improve personnel management of a remote workforce and consolidate and improve shared services. As part of this scope, we managed Cloud Acceleration, Microsoft Security, and other technology projects. We ensured performance on contracts performed by other contractors including ACS, Planet, and Enabling Technology, on-time and within budget; ensured best value for products and services acquired by the State; collaborated with State Project Governance Team; resolved disputes and questions by contractors; and applied technology solutions, project management standards, and best practices to ensure success of the portfolio project.
